OSR Alumni Association presents

2009 Annual conference

One practice from the art of illumination

with Mark Shimada

Saturday, June 20 Limited to 50 participants
90 minutes: 1:15–2:45 pm
A more in-depth workshop is offered on Sunday.

The art of illumination is based on the idea that interior development (experiences, reflections, and beliefs) affects exterior development (systems, procedures, and processes). In this session, you’ll experience the value of one of the five practices.

The Art of Illumination won the 2008 Governor’s Award for Workforce and Economic Development.

Using free form calligraphy, you’ll explore collective virtuosity that shifts the dependency of leadership away from an individual to each and every member, much like in jazz, symphony, dance, or an ensemble.

Your workshop takeaways

  • Apply the concepts underlying the workshop design to personal and organizational change opportunities;
  • Apply the content to frame change opportunities with an emphasis on inner dynamics.
