Will we get special deals on hotels? Are there people we can board with?

Special arrangements for overnight stays, e.g., boarding in a fellow student's home, sharing a hotel room, may be possible once the program begins.

Will accommodation be made for people with special eating requirements? For people who observe the Sabbath? Why do you have the program on Friday-Saturday?

It is the responsibility of people with special eating requirements to negotiate their needs with those providing food and beverage at regular weekend sessions and at residential sessions. The vast majority of people entering the OSR Master’s program have found the Friday-Saturday-Sunday model works best for them.

Is there a dress code?

Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably. Casual wear is the norm.

Can I bring my family or guests to learning sessions?

Much as you might like to expose your spouse or significant other to the learnings and growth you are experiencing through the OSR Master’s program, their presence may be a distraction to others or even yourself. Past groups have planned special social events so they can meet and get to know participants' family members or friends.

How far will I have to travel outside of the Seattle area?

Residential sessions in fall of each year are held near Port Orchard, Washington, within two hours drive and ferry ride of Seattle. All other sessions will be on the campus of Seattle University.

OSR students access resources through local educational institutions, public libraries, and on-line research. Seattle University's librarian assists students in learning how to access research collections.

Discover new ways of being

“The combination of curriculum, design and implementation of the OSR Master’s program is highly effective and its impact extends well beyond the realm of the workplace. While I've gained technical skills and new ways of thinking, most significantly, I've discovered new ways of being. It's not just my work life that's richer; my whole life is richer.” — OSR Master’s student
